This work celebrates Spring in Seattle and several of my
"births".
My Actual birth, May 9, 1965, which made my Mom a Mother on Mother's Day.
My Soul's rebirth, upon moving to the
verdant, forested Pacific Northwest.
My Creative rebirth, the day I was welcomed into the home that I share
with my partner, Don. The Birthday
House poem a.k.a. " that Monkey Egg poem" was created the summer of 1982 in a serendipitous moment with
my three brothers while sitting on my grandparent's back porch.
"Blue Monkey Eggs" have since come
to represent the childlike spirit of play & creativity.
